

EU Energy Day at COP26

DG Energy, in cooperation with several international partners (IRENA, IEA), is preparing the EU Energy Day on 5 November as part of the series of side events to promote, inter alia, clean energy transition at the upcoming COP26 in Glasgow (1 – 12 November). Under the overarching theme The European Union leading the global energy transition, the following sessions will be organised:
- Ensuring a just and people-centred transition
- Potential of offshore energy and green hydrogen to power the global energy transition
- Driving Climate Action with Data – the Role of the International Methane Emissions Observatory
- The EU engagement in UN compacts
All side events are held in hybrid format, with main speakers on-site and all other participants following the discussions online.
